9 Day Dublin and Belfast

Day 1: Depart from your local airport for your overnight flight to Dublin, Ireland.

Day 2: Arrive in Dublin where you will be met by your tour manager, and take the short drive in to Dublin. Upon arrival take a guided sightseeing city overview tour including Trinity College, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Grafton Street, Temple Bar, The Guinness Storehouse and St. Stephen’s Green. Then check into the hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner.

Day 3: In the morning play your first round at The Island Golf Club home of the 2019 Amateur Championship, founded in 1890 and ranked in the top 10 best courses in Ireland. After lunch take a walking tour of Dublin in order to see the more intimate parts of the city. The rest of the afternoon and evening are free to explore and enjoy the mystical city of Dublin.

Day 4: In the morning take an excursion outside Dublin to Knowth, the ancient Irish burial chambers older than the pyramids. Then, on to the seaside village of Howth where you will explore the village and enjoy lunch. After lunch play the Portmarnock Golf Club, consistently ranked as one of the top links courses in the world, and then enjoy dinner and some Irish music in Dublin.

Day 5: This morning after enjoying a hearty breakfast, we travel to the ‘Garden of Ireland’ – County Wicklow. As with many other parts of Ireland, Wicklow is drenched in history and heritage and one of the most famous examples of that is the Monastic Settlement of Glendalough. St. Kevin founded this ancient Monastery in the 6th century and he chose this location for its beautiful and remote setting. We will then make our way to the delightful village of Avoca, that has long been known for its famous copper mines. On top of everything else, it is home to Avoca Handweavers. Avoca is home to Ireland’s oldest weaving mill, founded in 1723. We will return to the city that evening and attend Taylors Three Rock for some lively traditional Irish entertainment and dinner.

Day 6: After breakfast this morning, we will travel north and cross the border into Northern Ireland. Before arriving in Belfast stop in County Down to play Ardglass Golf Club known for its stunning coastal views. Upon arriving in Belfast, we will visit the Titanic Belfast., voted the world’s leading tourist attraction in the World Travel Awards 2016. A state-of-the-art interactive museum that provides an unforgettable visitor experience. It tells the story of RMS Titanic, from her conception and launch into the River Lagan in 1911, to the tragic end of her maiden voyage a year later. It was here at Titanic Quarter (the former Queen’s Island) in Belfast Harbour, the ship was built. Enjoy the exhibits at your own pace. We check into our downtown hotel and tonight you are free to explore the city for dinner on your own.

Day 7: This morning after breakfast, we will journey via the Causeway Coastal Route – dubbed one of the best coastal drives in the world and visit Northern Ireland’s iconic attraction and its only UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Giant’s Causeway. Resulting from a volcanic eruption 60 million years ago, this is the focal point for a designated area of outstanding natural beauty which has attracted visitors for centuries as well as the legendary giant-Finn McCool. We will also see Dunluce Castle, used as the location of Castle Greyjoy in the HBO Games of Thrones Series. Before returning to Belfast play the famed Portstewart Golf Club, home of the 2017 Irish Open. Upon your return to Belfast enjoy a group dinner together at the hotel.

Day 8: This morning after breakfast, you have the use of a 24 hour hop on hop off City Sightseeing Ticket. You can explore the city at your own pace and take a comprehensive look at each area and district of this unique place and of course have time for any last-minute shopping, or sightseeing you may want to do. Early afternoon the group will play the final round at Malone Golf Club. That evening the group farewell dinner in a local Restaurant.

Day 9: All good things must come to an end. After breakfast this morning, transfer to the airport and board your flight returning you to the U.S.A. Arrive home with many unforgettable memories!

9 Day Cork, Dublin, Belfast

Day 1: Depart from your local airport for your overnight flight to Dublin, Ireland.

Day 2: This morning we will land in Dublin Airport and once we proceed through to the arrivals area, we will be met by our Tour Manager, where we will board our coach and travel southwards to Cork. On route we will stop at the Horse & Jockey Hotel where we will have a group lunch together. Upon arrival in Cork we will enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of the city, A small walkable city, you will see some of the main streets are built over channels where ships once nuzzled their anchor-chains a little over a century ago. Along the South Mall, you will see large gateways at street level, under steps leading to a higher main door. These were boathouses, when merchants arrived at their warehouses by the water. Finally, we will check-in to our accommodations for the next two nights: Take some free time exploring before enjoying dinner together this evening.

Day 3: This morning after enjoying breakfast, we set off to the nearby Port Town of Cobh, where over 2.5 million people emigrated from and was also the last port of call of the RMS Titanic in 1912. It is from here we will take a short scenic ferry ride across the harbor to Spike Island. We will enjoy a full guided tour of the island that has 1300 years of history! The island’s rich history has included monks & monasteries, rioters & redcoats, captains & convicts and saints & sinners. Today, the island is dominated by the 200-year-old Fort Mitchel, the star shaped Fortress, which became a prison holding over 2300 prisoners. Enjoy your visit to Spike Island. We return to the mainland and this evening and play our first golf game in Ireland at Fota Island Golf Club.

Day 4: This morning fuel up on breakfast as we bid farewell to the south of Ireland and travel to Dublin, Ireland’s capital city. On our way, we stop at the village of Blarney, and gain the ‘Gift of the Gab’ with a visit to Blarney Castle. Climb the winding stairs of this nearly impenetrable fortress, kiss the Blarney Stone and be granted the “Gift of Gab”. Explore the beautiful grounds and gardens that lead to Rock Close, Blarney Castle’s secret treasure. Once you have walked up an appetite for shopping, head inside the “Blarney Woolen Mills”—30,000 square feet of retail space within one of Ireland’s oldest and most authentic woolen mills. We then continue to Dublin, where we check into our next accommodation, Dublin City Center. Enjoy some free time this evening before enjoying a group dinner the hotel.

Day 5: This morning after breakfast enjoy some free time to explore Dublin. Have some lunch before you get to experience a tour of Dublin, with a difference! We will take a Viking Splash Tour of the City by land and water in a World War II amphibious Vehicle – all while our Viking guides deliver an informative, entertaining an engaging commentary, ensuring all are captivated by this thrilling tour! Later today, we will tee off for the second game of our tour. At The Island Golf Club . After the game, we will enjoy a post pizza reception.
